■Today's Words■　−日付や時間−

○ahead　：　前に、先に

『I want to make a phone call to Boston. What time is it there?』−『Boston is 3 hours ahead Los Angels, so it's 1:00 in the afternoon.』
「ボストンに電話したいんだけど、あそこは何時かな？」−「ボストンはロサンゼルスより３時間早いから、午後１時だね。」


○difference　：　違い、差異

『What's the time difference between New York and Japan?』−『New York is 14 hours behind Japan.』
「ニューヨークと日本の時差ってどれくらい？」−
「ニューヨークは日本より１４時間遅いよ。」


○the day after tomorrow　：　明後日

『I will go to San Francisco the day after tomorrow.』
「明後日サンフランシスコに行くんだ。」


■Break Time■　−日付−

本日の表現で『the day after tomorrow』「明後日」をご紹介しましたが、「一昨日」は『the day before yesterday』となります。
また「先週」を『last week』、「来週」を『next week』とあらわす事をご存知の方も多いと思いますが、では「先々週」や「来々週」という表現はいかがでしょうか？
正解は「先々週」が『the week before last』、「来々週」が『the week after next』となるんですよ。
